Gerald Kelley came home to
help me attach the wings to the aircraft. The splice plates were
already drilled when I constructed the spars. So, all we had to do
was to attach the wings, align them so they are perpendicular to the
fuselage and assure that they have the same incidence. We did this
during the month of July 2003, under the rain.
Once this was done, I was able to continue working on everything that
needs to be done while having the wings in place. I connected the
wiring, connected the fuel pumps to fuel tanks, installed the pitot/static,
determined battery location (following a preliminary w&b), made the
wing joint cover strip (above and below) and more.
