Construction Time 107.00 hours
Date Description Time
03.07.15 Installed inst. Panel labels and placards.  Studied Chapter 549 and exemption to realize I need some more labels. 1.50
03.07.11 Finalized and printed inst. Panel labels. + placards 2.00
02.10.19 Installed the sub-panel, the GPS and moved airspeed and autopilot on upper row.  Modified A/P wiring.  Installed the alternator field wire and OVM-14 3.00
02.10.18 Bought a GPS 196 and made a sub-panel that will fit behind the main inst. Sub-panel so I can plug the bottom holes and install the GPS support.  Painted the sub panel 3.00
02.08.29 Rewired trim switches and reinstalled buzzer on fuel warning circuit. Installed Trim switch and indicators on panel. 2.00
02.06.24 Installed accessories in panel.  Assembled the center fuel console.  Installed the altitude encoder (and a stiffener for the wire support angle). 5.00
02.06.23 Installed EL lights inverter and dimmer module. Attached wire bundles on each sides. Enlarged opening for sub panel. Tried to install forward fuel line on center console, but the T is messed up! (threads were off).  Soldered wires on elevator trim switch. 6.00
02.06.20 Wired flight instrument sub panel. And installed on airplane.   The main panel cut-out is too tight… I'll have to file it larger. 4.00
02.03.11 Drilled sub-panel with main panel 0.25
02.02.28 Positioned phone jack boxes 1.25
02.01.04 Installed radio rack, riveted panel, installed the stiffeners. 7.00
02.01.03 Worked on inst panel. Completed cutting holes, made flight inst. Sub panel, installed EIS. Note that the hole locations from the diagram do not match the EIS… I had to do some gymnastic with nut plates to recover from the error. 6.00
02.01.02 Re-made a panel.  Started to cut the openings and holes. 10.00
02.01.01 Formed inst panel and updated drawings. My panel is no good.  I did it using the 3rd edition of the plans and the sides are not high enough to accomodate for the forward tilting canopy frame.  I redrew it using the 4th edition plans.  Notice that there is a mistake in the coordinates of 6F12-4.  The second coordinate from the CL is 100mm away, not 126mm. 7.00
01.12 Designed instrument panel (22 iterations).  I also made a prototype on the plane which I tried for comfort. 40.00
01.10.15 Refined design 3.00
01.10.14 Started to design instrument panel on AutoCad 6.00
